Parkinson's disease blog launching soon, focused on questions, ideas and possibilities.
In 2017, Ivan asked me for help. I did not feel capable, but he was my buddy and he certainly needed help. His Parkinson's was worsening. I made a commitment to him to make Parkinson's my focus - to figure out something. And before he died, he asked me to continue to fight and make something happen.
I discovered that there are data in first-rate, peer-reviewed scientific publications that show a different way to treat the disease. Instead of increasing brain dopamine or enhancing its activity, the data suggest to me that a better way to treat Parkinson's is to reduce dopamine inside the dopaminergic neurons, which are the brain cells so vital to our functioning, and which drive Parkinson's disease when they are dysfunctional or dead.
Please join me on my journey as we conduct the rigorous scientific studies required to prove this theory is correct and shows that we can conquer Parkinson's. Finally.
